Bad Neustadt a.d. Saale, 11 November 2009 ----- RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG will
acquire an interest of 94% in MEDIGREIF-Betriebsgesellschaft für
Krankenhäuser und integrative Gesundheitszentren mbH with effect from 1
January 2010.

Subject to the usual review by the German Cartel Office, the Company's
healthcare network is thus expanded by five acute inpatient facilities -
four in Saxony-Anhalt and one hospital in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania - as
well as 2 medical care centres (MVZs) in Saxony-Anhalt. The agreement
between RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG and the management of MEDIGREIF
Betriebsgesellschaft für Krankenhäuser und integrative Gesundheitszentren
mbH was notarised today (Wednesday). The parties agreed to maintain secrecy
regarding the contractual details.

'We are thus expanding our healthcare network in Saxony-Anhalt and are
pleased to already extend our presence to Mecklenburg-West Pomerania also
and thus to the 10th federal state', said Wolfgang Pföhler, chairman of the
Board of Management of RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG.

By operating basic care hospitals, RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG and
MEDIGREIF-Betriebsgesellschaft für Krankenhäuser und integrative
Gesundheitszentren mbH are making their contribution towards securing local
care to the population meeting high medical standards. MEDIGREIF
Betriebsgesellschaft für Krankenhäuser employs roughly 830 persons and has
842 beds.

Saxony-Anhalt 
* Kreiskrankenhaus Burg: As an acute basic-care acute hospital and academic
teaching hospital of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, the facility
secures healthcare delivery to approximately 20,000 patients each year. The
hospital has 241 beds.
* Bördekrankenhaus Neindorf:  The hospital has 222 beds and as a basic-care
acute hospital provides care to approx. 18,000 patients each year.
* Krankenhaus Anhalt-Zerbst: Approximately 15,000 patients are treated each

* Fachkrankenhaus Vogelsang-Gommern: This specialised hospital has 131
beds. Its specialised clinic for rheumatological and orthopaedic diseases
treats some 12,000 patients a year.

Mecklenburg-West Pomerania
* Integratives Gesundheitszentrum Boizenburg GmbH: The basic-care acute
facility has 46 beds and comprises the departments of Internal Medicine and
Surgery. Approximately 3,600 patients are treated each year.
