Campus conception
We believe that the further development of the healthcare system, particularly in rural areas, calls for all of the actors involved in the provision of healthcare to cooperate in the best possible way beyond sectoral boundaries. Especially rural regions are affected by the ageing of the population and the respective increase in morbidity and the number of cases to be cared for, and also by the increasing lack of qualified doctors.
Our strategic guideline for this is a regional approach to the implementation of our campus concept – i.e. dovetailing the fields of inpatient and outpatient care including the close cooperation of all service providers and medical practitioners in a particular region. With the RHÖN-KLINIKUM Campus Bad Neustadt, we are currently completely renewing and remodelling our clinics in Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale, where the company's head office is located. This campus responds to the need for age-appropriate patient care that looks beyond the local region and offers a sophisticated hospital architecture and optimised medical and nursing care and logistics. Beyond this, the project also aims to serve as a role model for other locations in our company. We assume that in the medium term, our campus concept will develop into a "hit export" for our company in terms of how a healthcare system should be designed that will soon be adopted by other regions as well. Of course this also has an impact on the future dynamics of our business model, which not only relies on organic growth but also on the targeted takeover and integration of suitable clinics.
