RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG / Key word(s): Half Year Results/Interim Report2015-08-06 / 06:59 Interim Report for the First Six Months of 2015: RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG Continues its Strong Business Development - Acquisition of Municipal Hospital in Bad Neustadt Demonstrates Strategic Signal for Growth - 373,027 patients treated - Revenues stand at EUR 555.4 million - EBITDA amounts to EUR 83.8 million - Outlook for 2015 remains unchanged: Revenues between EUR 1.08 billion and EUR 1.12 billion, EBITDA between EUR 145 million and EUR 155 million Bad Neustadt / Saale, 6th August 2015 RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG continued its strong economic course during the first six months of the current financial year. In the first half-year 373,027 patients were treated in the hospitals of the corporation. Revenues for the period from January up to and including June amounted to EUR 555.4 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at EUR 83.8 million. These financial figures are not directly comparable with those of previous years due to the sale of a total of 43 facilities which was completed during last financial year 2014. Acquisition of Municipal Hospital in Bad Neustadt Roughly one week ago the agreement to take over the municipal hospital in Bad Neustadt was concluded before a notary public with the aim to integrate it in the RHÖN-KLINIKUM campus in Bad Neustadt. With its broad medical focus and generally mutually exclusive and complementary range of services the municipal hospital with revenues of more than EUR 30 million augments the existing hospitals of our corporation already providing excellent intermediate medical care at our headquarters in Bad Neustadt. The transfer of operations is to take place in January 2016. By 2018 the hospital will be integrated in the new building on the RHÖN-KLINIKUM campus in Bad Neustadt. Outlook We continue to expect revenues of EUR 1.08 billion to EUR 1.12 billion and EBITDA of between EUR 145 million and EUR 155 million for 2015, the first full financial year with the new portfolio structure. As in previous years one-off effects will continue to influence the corporate results during 2015 as well. The size of these positive and negative special influences is a low two-digit million figure; they will occur during the entire financial year 2015 and will partially cancel each other out. "After a number of turbulent years our corporate group is now growing together in a phase of consolidation. We are using these stable framework conditions to continue our course of sustainable organic growth, to strengthen our unique position on the market by focussing on maximum medical care and to continue to be a source of inspiration in the German healthcare economy," CEO Dr. Martin Siebert said. The acquisition of the municipal hospital in Bad Neustadt is also within this context. "Even if this acquisition mainly follows regional, medical and corporate aspects, it still shows that acquisitions continue to remain part of our business strategy if an appropriate opportunity arises. Furthermore integrating the municipal hospital in our new campus in Bad Neustadt is a pilot project for the development of healthcare provision particularly in rural areas since the population benefits from innovation and the high medical quality of our hospital group with its direct link to university medicine." *************************************************************************************** RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG is one of the largest healthcare providers in Germany.
