Notification according to section 26 para. 1 WpHG 

Morgan Stanley, Wilmington, Delaware, USA notified us on 25 June 2013
pursuant to section 25a para. 1 WpHG of the following:

1) On 20 June 2013, Morgan Stanley, Wilmington, Delaware USA exceeded the
threshold of 5% of the voting rights of RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG, Schlossplatz 1,
97616 Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale, Germany. On that date, Morgan Stanley held
5.04% of the voting rights in RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG (equals 6,962,016 voting
rights).

From these voting rights a proportion of 1.68% (equals 2,321,275 voting
rights) is based on voting rights pursuant to sections 21, 22 WpHG.

In addition, a proportion of 3.15% (equals 4,360,218 voting rights) is
based on (financial/other) instruments pursuant to section 25 WpHG. From
the voting rights based on instruments pursuant to section 25 WpHG a
proportion of 3.15% (equals 4,360,218 voting rights) is held indirectly.

In addition, a proportion of 0.20% (equals 280,523 voting rights) is based
on (financial/other) instruments pursuant to section 25a WpHG. From the
voting rights based on instruments pursuant to section 25a WpHG a
proportion of 0.20% (equals 280,523 voting rights) is held indirectly.

The (financial/other) instruments pursuant to section 25a WpHG are
described as follows:

  - Cash Settled Call Option (expiration date 26.06.2013) 

  - Cash Settled Put Option (expiration date 26.06.2013)

  - Equity Swap (expiration date 27.06.2013)
