On 25 July 2012, UBS AG, Zürich, Switzerland, notified us pursuant to
section 21 para. 1 WpHG of the following:

On 23 July 2012, UBS AG exceeded the threshold of 3% of the voting rights
in RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG, Salzburger Leite 1, 97616 Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale,
Germany. On that date, UBS AG held 3.002% of the voting rights in
RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG arising from 4,149,523 voting rights.

Of these voting rights, a proportion of 0.581% (equals 802,991 voting
rights) is attributed to UBS AG pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no.
1 WpHG.
