RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG has successfully completed its handover within the Board of Management. As has long been known, Gerald Meder, member of the Board of Management in the division Specialised, Intermediate and Maximum Care as well as deputy chairman of the Company’s Board of Management, is resigning from the Board of Management at year-end. He will continue to serve the Company and in future will assume functions within the area of responsibility of the chairman of the Board of Management.
In this context, the following changes apply starting from 2011:
Responsibility for the Group’s hospitals will be assumed from 2011 by Martin Menger, Volker Feldkamp, as well as Dr. Christoph Straub (who is additionally responsible for the Group’s outpatient facilities). Menger (51) has already worked for RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG in executive positions in the region of Northern Germany for ten years, and is newly appointed to the Board of Management as of 1 January 2011. Volker Feldkamp (50) has already been on the Board of Management since 1 September 2010, assuming duties in the operative area. Andrea Aulkemeyer (46), Board member responsible for Internal Auditing and Compliance, is leaving the Company at her own request on 31 December 2010. The areas of responsibility managed by her will come under the responsibility of the chairman of the Board of Management.
“In 2009 we set out to gear our Company towards the integrated growth strategy. With the new Board competencies our objective was to find a solution based on continuity and reliability meeting the requirements of our hospital network. With the handover we have now completed this re-alignment. That puts us in a good position to continue our growth strategy and offer our patients viable and reliable care concepts for the future,” said Wolfgang Pföhler, chairman of the Board of Management.
