PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT IS A TRADITION IN OUR COMPANY
Treating the environment with care is very important to RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG. From an ecological point of view, clinics are above all facilities that consume a lot of energy and materials. Nevertheless, our commitment is not just limited to targeted energy efficiency and resource conservation measures; it also covers the areas of water, waste water and waste.
We have practised effective environmental management for many years already; in accordance with out decentralised corporate structures, it is embedded Group-wide on two levels. In each of our clinics, the technical management team, which then also implements the clinic-specific measures, is responsible for environmental management. The team not only ensures that all technical and medical equipment and devices are operated safely but also monitors construction projects, energy consumption and is responsible for assessing equipment needs and the initial installation of this equipment.
The Group division Construction & Technology supports and coordinates the clinics’ respective activities. This division’s main responsibilities include Group-wide energy and emission monitoring, holding regular training courses for the employees responsible on site, and organising the effective and rapid exchange of information and experiences within our clinics in this area. It also promotes the joint development of new energy supply standards in the healthcare industry with innovative projects.
